Southwest Monsoon has intensified in various parts of the country. Due to this, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, West Bengal and other states are receiving heavy rains along the Western Ghats. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh is also receiving heavy rains.
More than 300 people were killed in landslides caused by heavy rains in Kerala’s Wayanad region. The rescue work is going on in the middle of the rain. Orange warning has been issued for heavy rain till tomorrow in 4 districts including Wayanad. Similarly, an orange warning has been issued in Karnataka as there is a possibility of very heavy rains at a couple of places today.
12 to 20 centimeters of rain is usually expected during an orange warning. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has informed that a low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. India Meteorological Department said that a low pressure area has formed over West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand areas and this low pressure area is likely to move in the West North West direction and strengthen in the next 24 hours.
