IIT Madras has raised a record Rs 513 crore for the financial year 2023-24 from alumni, industry and individual donors. This is said to be 135 percent more than the previous financial year.

Spread over an area of about 250 hectares, the institute employs nearly 550 teachers, 8000 students and 1250 administrative support staff. It is also noteworthy that it has recently been named the No. 1 Engineering University in India.

IIT Madras managed to raise Rs 102 crore in FY 2020-21, Rs 131 crore in FY 2021-22 and Rs 231 crore in FY 2022-23.
