The Linthulai police said that five people including the bus driver who were traveling in the bus were injured and were admitted to the Linthulai District Hospital for treatment.
The accident took place today (02) around 8.00 am on Hutton Nuwara Eliya main road in Linthulai Mattukalai area.
Police said the accident occurred when a private bus traveling from Nuwara Eliya to Hatton collided with a lorry traveling from Colombo to Ambewela State Cattle Farm.
The private bus was badly damaged in the accident and the condition of the injured is not critical, said the Linthulai police who are investigating the accident.
As the road is slippery due to the current rain, the officer in charge of Lindula Police Station has requested the drivers to drive carefully and slowly while driving on Hattan Nuwaraeliya main road.
