Director Pa Ranjith has emerged as an inevitable director in Tamil cinema. Pa Ranjith made his directorial debut in Kollywood with the film Attakathi. He worked as an assistant director to director Venkat Prabhu on Chennai-28. Breaking the expectations of directors coming out of Venkat Prabhu’s studio who make films playfully, Beel Gut, Ba Ranjith spoke about Dalit politics in Attakathi.
His next film Madras showcased the politics around the wall. He innovated by casting Rajinikanth in a completely aged look. Baa Ranjith created the story of Kabali to fuel Superstar Rajinikanth’s performance. Subsequently, Pa. Ranjith also directed the movie Kala with Rajinikanth. Currently, he has finished directing the film Tangalan. It will hit the screens soon. Director Pa Ranjith is a voice against not only cinema but also against social issues.
In this case, director Ba Ranjith has condemned the beheading of Alagendra, a listed youth in Virudhunagar. Director Pa Ranjith requested the police to arrest the culprits who killed him. He also mentioned that a special law should be brought to prevent such heinous act.
