24The police said that a young man living in Vavuniya, Nandimithiragama area, died after tying a rope around his girlfriend’s neck to show fear.
Two days ago, a 17-year-old boy from Vavunia Boguswewa area was reported missing to Mamadu police.
In this case, the youth in question was found dead today (30) in Nandimithiragam area. It has been revealed in the initial phase of police investigations that the rope was tied around the neck of his 15-year-old girlfriend to threaten her.
The body of the youth was brought to Vavunia Hospital and handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
Mamaduwa police have conducted further investigations in this regard.
