The said accident took place today (11) around 4.30 am.
The Nuwara Eliya Police said that 40 passengers involved in the bus accident have been admitted to the Nuwara Eliya District Hospital for treatment.
At the same time, 07 people who were injured in the bus accident and admitted to the hospital have been admitted to the emergency department and 33 others have been admitted to the normal treatment department, said the Director of Nuwaraeliya District Hospital.
More details about the accident are as follows.
42 passengers from a private hotel in Nuwara Eliya traveled to Trincomalee in a super luxury bus.
The said bus was going to Toppas area on the main road of Nuwara Eliya Kandy and it crashed in the middle of the road due to a sudden malfunction.
At the same time, it is noteworthy that the driver of the bus skilfully hit the road safety barrier and prevented a massive accident.
Nuwara Eliya Police are conducting further investigations regarding the accident.
