Accused of raping a girl: Yeddyurappa was interrogated for 3 hours!

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa appeared before the Special Investigation Committee yesterday in the case of raping a seventeen-year-old girl. He was interrogated for 3 hours.

Yeddyurappa’s position in the party remains the same even though he is not in the post of Chief Minister. In this situation, last March, Bangalore police registered a case against Yeddyurappa for raping a 17-year-old girl. This created a stir in Karnataka and the BJP. Yeddyurappa had filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking quashing of the case.

At the same time, the Karnataka government transferred the case to the Special Investigation Committee. Subsequently, the Special Investigation Committee had sent a summons to Yeddyurappa to appear for questioning.

In this situation, the mother of the girl who complained against Yeddyurappa died suddenly of lung cancer.

Following this, the girl’s brother approached the court demanding that Yeddyurappa be arrested in POCSO. As a result, the POCSO court issued a non-bailable warrant to arrest Yeddyurappa.

Thus there was a situation where Yeddyurappa could be arrested at any time.

In this situation, Yeddyurappa went to Delhi. Due to this Karnataka Special Investigation Team has also gone to Delhi. Yeddyurappa went to the court to seek a restraining order against further arrest.

The court heard this and asked Yeddyurappa to appear before the special investigation committee on June 17. It ordered that he should not be arrested until then.

It was in this situation that Yeddyurappa, who returned to Bangalore from Delhi, appeared before the Special Investigation Committee for questioning yesterday. He was interrogated for 3 hours.
