supreme court: The Supreme Court ordered the presence of the Election Commission officer in the case where the acknowledgment slips were requested to be counted.
A case was filed in the Supreme Court demanding 100% counting of the acknowledgment slips recorded in the VVPAT machine when the Lok Sabha elections have started. In other words, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court asking that the votes recorded in the electronic voting machines should be compared 100 percent with the acknowledgment slips recorded in the VVPAT machines.
A complete counting of the acknowledgment slips has been demanded as there is a suspicion of fraud in the electronic voting machine. The hearing on this case is going on in the Supreme Court for the past few days. At that time, various views were expressed by the petitioner, the Election Commission and the lawyer.
Supreme Court judges also raised various questions. After this, it was reported that the Supreme Court is going to issue an interim order today in the case of 100% counting of acknowledgment slips with voting machines. In this way, when the case came up for hearing today, the judges said that there were some doubts regarding the VVPAT microcontroller.
Is the microcontroller included in the vivpad? Or is it dependent on the control unit? The judges questioned. They also raised various questions about whether the microcontroller is programmable only once?
Therefore, the judges also said that we still have some major doubts about the functioning of the electronic voting machine. Thus, they ordered the Election Commission officer and technical experts to appear and explain their questions at 2 pm and adjourned the verdict on this case to 2 pm.
