Tamil Nadu: Online application for agriculture courses in Tamilnadu starts from today. A press conference was held today regarding admissions for agricultural studies in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
On this occasion, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor V. Keethalakshmi explained about the admissions for Bachelor of Agriculture, Diploma and Research courses. At that time, he said, the summer rainfall was very less in most districts of Tamil Nadu. Good rains are expected for three days from tomorrow and southwest monsoon will be good this year. He also informed that the farmers can reap the harvest happily due to this.
In the press conference, Vice Chancellor V. Geethalakshmi said:-
18 member colleges and 28 affiliated colleges are functioning under the 120-year-old Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. Online application portal for admission to junior science, diploma, masters and research courses in colleges is launched from today.
Admissions for Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Annamalai University and Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha Fisheries University are done through single website tnagfi.ucanapply.com. Online applications should be downloaded and submitted by June 6.
Students can apply through this website for 14 courses under Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, two courses under Annamalai University, 9 courses under Fisheries University and three different diploma courses.
In terms of seat reservation, there is 7.5 percent reservation for students who have studied in government schools, 5 percent for those who have studied agri-vocational course and 5% for persons with disabilities. Apart from these, 20 seats are allotted in each college as one seat in sports wing and ex-servicemen’s families.
After completion of online application cut off marks will be determined based on ranking and rank list will be published. Based on that counseling will be conducted and students will be admitted to their respective courses.
The application fee for this is Rs 600 for general category and Rs 300 for SCST category. There is an application fee of Rs 200 for diploma courses and Rs 100 for SC ST category.
Similarly, the application process for postgraduate and research courses ends on June 12. After this, the entrance exam will be conducted and based on that, the selection for postgraduate and research courses will be held.
