Annual Thirthothsavam of Mamangeswarar Temple – oneindias

The annual Thirthothsavam of Sri Mamangeswarar Temple in Batticaloa, which is famous for being worshiped by Lord Rama, was celebrated today (04) on the new moon day.

The Mamangeswarar temple of that temple is situated as Murthy, Thalam and Tirtha.

As the temple with the highest Dravidian facade sculpture in Sri Lanka, tens of thousands of devotees of this special temple chanted the Arokara chants of the devotees.

The utsavam activities were conducted under the leadership of Shiva Sri Kamalaraja Gurus, Pradamaguru Shivagama Kalanidhi of Mamangeswarar Temple.

After special pujas were held in Vasantha Mandapam and Swami Vethiula was held, Mamangeswarar Temple has the honor of being the temple worshiped by Ramapiran who crawled outside and has the honor of having a Tirthakkeni that solves the problem.

The historical significance of Mamangeswarar Temple is also found in the legend that Hanuman quenched his anger by dipping his tail in it when he burned Ilangapuri.
