Naam Tamilar Party chief coordinator Seeman has said that the Tamil Nadu government should issue an ordinance for the appointment of all teachers who have passed the teachers’ qualification test since 2013.
In a statement issued in this regard, he said, “The DMK government’s cheating of teachers who passed the 2013 qualifying examination for teaching jobs in government schools is strongly condemned.
The DMK government’s laxity in passing the time without issuing the job order as announced in the assembly election report is tyranny. Last year in 2012, the then AIADMK government announced that for the appointment of government school teachers, it is mandatory to pass the qualification test and the appointments were made accordingly. However, as the Tamil Nadu government has so far refused to appoint only those who have passed the teacher qualification test held in 2013, their future has become a big question mark.
In the hope of getting a job as a teacher, they have given up their previous jobs, lost their livelihood and are left in the dark. Meanwhile, in July 2018, the AIADMK government issued a new notification that the candidates who passed the qualifying examination will be selected for the teaching post through another competitive examination.
I strongly condemned and urged for the withdrawal of such order, which causes great confusion in the teacher selection system, and expressed my support by personally participating in the continuous protest conducted by the teachers.
The DMK government, which came to power with the full support of the teachers by promising to cancel the re-appointment examination system after coming to power, promised to provide employment to all those who passed the qualifying examination, three years after taking over the government, but still not fulfilling them is a blatant betrayal of the teachers who voted for them.
The DMK government has pushed the charitable teachers who are creating the intellectual generation to fight on the streets for their basic rights. Meanwhile, the High Court has ordered to issue appointment order to 410 people who filed a case in the High Court against the betrayal of the Tamil Nadu government.
It is very disappointing that the High Court has given relief only to the plaintiffs, instead of giving a judgment to appoint all the victims. The other 40,000 teachers affected by the High Court’s verdict are shocked and distressed. Therefore, the Tamil Nadu government should take the decision of the High Court as a precedent and as promised in the election manifesto, issue an ordinance for the appointment of all the teachers who have passed the teacher qualification test since 2013,” he said.
