Election2024 : BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed in the Lok Sabha elections in Surat, Gujarat.
Parliamentary elections were held in 102 constituencies in 21 states in the first phase last Friday, April 19. Following this, the second phase of elections will be held on April 26 and the third phase of elections on May 7. Subsequently, the Lok Sabha elections will be completed on June 1 with the 7th phase of polling and the results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on June 4.
Ahead of the June 4 Lok Sabha election results, the ruling BJP has registered its first victory in the 2024 elections.
Elections to all 26 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Gujarat will be held in a single phase on May 7. The initial date for filing nominations for this started on April 12 and ended on April 20. Today (April 22) is the last date to withdraw the nomination.
The election officer rejected the nomination of Nilesh Kumbani, who filed his nomination on behalf of the Congress yesterday. The nomination of the Congress candidate was rejected as the concerned persons told the election officials that the signatures of 2 of those who signed in support of the candidate were fake.
Earlier the nomination of BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was accepted. BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed as Member of Parliament from Gujarat’s Surat constituency as the rest of the candidates withdrew their nominations today. With this, the BJP has registered its first victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
