UK Elections: The ruling Conservative Party won only 81 seats. The Labor Party has won 360 seats.
In England yesterday (Thursday) election for Prime Minister was held in one phase for all 650 constituencies. In this, incumbent Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on behalf of the ruling Conservative Party and Keir Starmer on behalf of the Labor Party are contesting as the main prime ministerial candidates.
The election started at 7 am local time yesterday and ended at 10 pm. Following this, today (Friday) the votes have been counted and the results announced since early morning local time. A party needs the support of 326 members to prove a majority in Britain’s 650-seat constituency.
According to the polls released so far, the Labor Party has been leading since the beginning. The Conservative Party, which has been in power for about 14 years, is coming to an end.
It has been announced that the Labor Party has won 360 seats so far. The ruling Conservative Party won only 81 seats. Other parties, the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) registered their victory in 3 seats, the Liberal Democrats in 49 seats and the Reform UK Party in 3 seats.
According to post-election polls conducted by the country’s media, the Labor Party will win about 410 seats, while the ruling Conservative Party will register a victory in only 131 seats.
