Chennai: The Central Administrative Tribunal has ordered that the transfer of 13 professors in Chennai ESI Medical College Hospital is invalid and their transfer orders have been cancelled.
Chennai KK Thirteen doctors working as associate professors at ESI Medical College in the city had applied to the central government stating their preferences and priorities for transfer.
But, ignoring their wishes and preferences, they were given transfer orders. Subsequently, the 13 associate professors filed a case against these orders in the Chennai session of the Central Administrative Tribunal. The matter came up for hearing today before the member of the tribunal, Swaminathan.
At that time, the petitioners said that they were transferred without following the transfer policies brought in 2022. But the lawyer appearing for the central government argued that “the transfer order has been issued in accordance with all the rules”.
After hearing the arguments of both sides, the arbitrator ordered, “These transfer orders have been issued without following the government regulations. Therefore, these orders are cancelled. Transfer should be given to 13 petitioners following the transfer rules.”
