According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in 10 districts of Tamil Nadu today.
In this regard, in a statement issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department, there is an area of variable wind direction in the upper atmospheric layers of Tamil Nadu. 12.05.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (40 kmph to 50 kmph) at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts received heavy rain at one or two places.
13.05.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal. Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts received heavy rainfall at one or two places.
14.05.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
