Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a statement in this regard, 14.05.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal areas.
Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts are likely to receive heavy rain at one or two places, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
In this situation, in the next 3 hours in Tamil Nadu, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the districts of Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Nilgiris and Coimbatore, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
