Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that very heavy rain is likely to occur in Tamil Nadu on 22nd.
Atmospheric low circulation prevails over south-east interior districts and adjoining areas. 18.05.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (40 kmph to 50 kmph) may occur at many places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal. Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Tirupur, Coimbatore districts and Nilgiris. A few places in the districts received heavy rainfall.

Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Theni, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts, heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Tirupur, Coimbatore and Nilgiri districts, and heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Sivagangai and Pudukottai districts.
