Citron has launched the ‘Basalt’ coupe SUV at a price of Rs 7.99 lakh

After a long wait, Citroen has launched the Basalt Coupe SUV in India. The Citron Basalt has been released as a direct competitor to the Tata Curve SUV coupe which will be released on September 2.

Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV Price:

Citroen has launched this coupe SUV model at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.99 lakh. But, this is just the introductory price. Yes, Citroen has announced that the Basalt car will be available at this price only till October 31. The company has not shared information on how much it plans to raise prices after.

Features of Citron Basalt:

In order to sell this car at a low price, Citroen has reduced various premium features on the Bazald. However, this car gets LED lights, alloy wheels, dual tone bumper, 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, six airbags, rear parking camera and tire pressure monitoring system.

Engine:

Citroen has offered two engine options in this car, namely a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The NA engine produces 82hp of power and 115Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

The turbo petrol engine produces 110hp. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. The 6-speed manual gearbox variant is capable of producing 190Nm of torque and the automatic gearbox variant is capable of producing 205Nm of torque.

Competitors:

The SUV coupe model, apart from the Tata Curve model, competes with the midsize SUVs Hyundai Creta (from Rs. 11 lakh), Kia Seltos (from Rs. 10.90 lakh), Honda Elevate (from Rs. 11.69 lakh), Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara (from Rs. 10.99 lakh). ), the Toyota HiRider (Rs 11.14 Lakh onwards), Skoda Kushak (Rs 10.89 Lakh onwards), Volkswagen Tycoon (Rs 11.70 Lakh onwards) and MG Aster (Rs 9.98 Lakh onwards) are currently launched.
