Police caught in POCSO case after flirting with student.
Police arrested under POCSO Act after threatening to photograph a student who was standing alone and talking in Kovilpalayam area near Annoor, Coimbatore.
A boy and a girl student of class 8 were standing alone and talking in Kovilpalayam area near Annur, Coimbatore district. Ravikumar, who was working as a constable at the Kovilpalayam police station at that time, heard that the student and the girl were talking on the cell phone.

After that, he allegedly threatened the student and demanded money and made lewd remarks to the student. The student told her parents about this. Following this, the parents filed a complaint with the Kovilpalayam police against Ravikumar. Based on this complaint, the Kovilpalayam police registered a case and conducted an investigation.

In this investigation it was confirmed that Ravikumar had demanded money from the student and then they arrested Ravikumar. Also, it is noted that he was transferred to Kovilpalayam Police Station as he had already received various complaints of misconduct in the Beelamedu Police Station. Now the police have shifted the investigation to Sulur Women’s Police Station. After this, a case was registered against him and he was imprisoned under the POCSO Act.
