Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is going to visit Coimbatore today to launch various welfare schemes for the people. For this, he will arrive in Coimbatore by a separate flight from Chennai today (August 9) at 11 am.
Innovation Girl Project:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, as an extension of the ‘Pudumai Ben’ scheme started in the year 2022 for the benefit of girl students who studied in government schools, the ‘Tamil Putulavan’ scheme is going to be launched today. 1000 rupees per month is already given to girl students studying in Tamil medium in government and government aided schools from 6th to 12th standard through Pudumai Bhen Yojana. About 3.28 lakh girl students are benefited by this.
Tamil Boy Scheme:
In the same way, the Tamil Putulavan scheme, which will be launched by the Chief Minister today, will be given 1000 rupees per month for the benefit of the students who study in Tamil and go to college for further studies from 6th to 12th standard. 3.28 lakh students are going to benefit from this scheme which will be launched by the Chief Minister today. 360 crore rupees have been allocated for this purpose.
470 crore flyover:
Similarly, a new flyover has been constructed between Ukkadam and Athupalam at an estimated cost of Rs 470 crore to reduce traffic congestion in the main areas of Coimbatore. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is going to open this completed flyover for public use.
This bridge has been built to control the traffic congestion on the Pollachi and Palakkad highway.
Other Important Events:
Next, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for the new Artist Library and Knowledge Center at the Coimbatore Semmozhi Park complex. Also, the Chief Minister is going to inaugurate the Department of Biology and Department of Social Sciences building which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 40 crore at Bharatiyar University, Coimbatore.
Artist statue:
Next, he will inaugurate the food road constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore at the VUC ground, the new building completed at Pulyakulam Government Women’s Arts and Science College and then proceed to Kanyur. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is going to inaugurate the newly installed statue of artist Karunanidhi in Kanyur area.
Ban on drones:
Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will participate in the above events and will leave Coimbatore by private flight in the afternoon. In view of the Chief Minister’s visit, security has been beefed up in major areas including Peelamedu, Racecourse, Ukkadam, Coimbatore. Flying of drones is also banned in Coimbatore.
