The US House of Representatives is set to vote next week on a bill that would force ByteDance to withdraw from China within 165 days (six months).

If the bill passes next week, TikTok, which has about 170 million US users, will be forced out of China.

In this regard, the TikTok app side said that we do not share the data of US users with the Chinese government. It also said that it will not be shared in the future. This bill allows Tik Tok to continue operating in China while Tik Tok operates in the United States. Nor is it clear whether it will be phased out in six months.

The bill would give ByteDance 165 days to pull TikTok out of China. Failure to do so will result in TikTok being legally banned from Apple, Google and other platforms.

Tik Tok claims that the law seeks to ban TikTok outright in the United States, that the government is trying to deprive 170 million Americans of their freedom of expression, and that it will affect millions of businesses and artists.
