Kerala Election 2024 : Like the last time in Kerala, the Congress is working hard to make a dent in the Lok Sabha elections this time.
Political parties are very active during the parliamentary elections in the country. The first phase of voting was held last week on Friday, April 19. At that time, elections were held in 102 constituencies in 21 states including 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The second phase of the election will be held next Friday, April 26.
INDIA Alliance:
Unlike the previous elections, the Indian Lok Sabha elections are taking place with a lot of exciting twists and turns so that the world is watching the elections this time. BJP has emerged as a strong party by winning consecutive elections in 2014 and 2019. To oppose it, Congress has formed a mega alliance called INDIA.
Polar opposites:
About 25 parties including Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party, Communist Parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Shiv Sena (Uddav Thackeray) have united in this INDIA alliance. Interestingly, in West Bengal, Congress and Trinamool are contesting on opposite sides. But externally, India has united in alliance. Similarly, the Congress-Communist parties, which are in an alliance, are polar opposites in Kerala. Although this is a state-wise alliance, they have come together in an alliance called INDIA to oppose the BJP as a whole.
Kerala Elections:
In Kerala, out of the total 20 Lok Sabha constituencies, the Congress party has won the most seats in the last 2 terms. In 2014, the Congress alliance won 12 constituencies and in the 2019 elections, the Congress alliance won 19 constituencies (Congress alone won 15). However, in 2016 and 2021 assembly elections, the Congress party continues to be the opposition party.
The Communist Alliance Parties (LDF) have been ruling the Kerala assembly elections in 2016 and 2021 by winning the majority of seats. Like Tamil Nadu, assembly elections will be held in Kerala in 2026.

Considering this, the Congress party is now actively working. Congress is trying not only to win this 2024 parliamentary elections, but also to win the 2026 assembly elections and again in Kerala.

National Politics:
