District Collector Kamal Kishore has said that the Charal festival is going to start on the 16th at Courtalam in Tenkasi district.
Charal festival is usually organized by the district administration during the Charal season in Courtalam of Tenkasi district. A food festival, a book festival and a horticulture festival are also organized along with the Charal festival. In this situation, District Collector Kamal Kishore has said that the Charal festival for the current year will start on the 16th and will be held on the 19th. Ministers K. K. S. S. R. Ramachandran, Thangam Tennarasu, K. Ramachandran will participate in the opening program of this Charal festival which will be held for 4 days.
On the opening day of the Charal festival, there will be a children’s competition and art performances, and on the 17th, a boat race and a dog show will be held. On the 18th, there will be a weightlifting and anjagan competition, and on the final day, a small grain eating competition will be held. It has also been informed that a flower exhibition will be held at the Eco Park near Aindarvi from 16th to 18th.
