Next, he participated in an all-party meeting held in Wayanad and discussed the issue of landslides.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan speaking to the media after the conclusion of the all-party meeting said that the work of rescuing the people trapped in the Wayanad landslide is going on. It seems that many people are lost in the landslide. Many people are still trapped in the landslide.
The bulldozer could not go to certain places. This has made the rescue work difficult. Bodies have been washed up on the river bank in Malappuram. The search for the bodies is going on intensively. Survivors from the landslide have been accommodated in camps.
Places will be arranged for permanent accommodation of those who are accommodated in the camps. Proper counseling will be provided to those who have lost their relations due to the landslide and are mentally affected. Arrangements will be made to meet those staying in the camps from outside the camps.
No one should directly deliver relief goods to the affected area. It will be restricted. Children need education. The school cannot function for now. So arrangements will be made for education in the camps.
Steps are being taken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases following the disaster. The current situation is not good. Therefore, no one should personally come to Wayanad to help. Helpline numbers have been provided to identify the people in the camps. A couple of people are enough to receive the bodies of the dead. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a press conference today that steps will be taken to get all the certificates lost in the landslide.
