Before this film, the hit film Gilli starring actor Vijay was re-released on April 20. It must be said that the fans celebrated the re-release of this movie amid huge expectations. The film is still playing in some theatres.
The film, which was re-released years later, collected 8 crores on its first day worldwide, making it the highest first-day grosser of any re-released film in Tamil cinema. So, will Ajith’s Deena beat that opening day collection with its subsequent release? The expectation was among the fans.
In this case, the film Deena, which was re-released in theaters yesterday, has collected only 2.50 crores worldwide on its first day. Although Gilli collected around 9 crores on the first day worldwide, it collected 4.75 crores on the first day in Tamil Nadu. There are also reports that Deena could not break the re-release collections of Gilli.
