Rinku Singh : Ringu Singh’s father has expressed his regret that the much-anticipated Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup series was not included in the first team and was selected as a reserve player.
The 9th World Cup series will begin on 2nd June in USA and West Indies. In this case, the participating countries are currently publishing the list of players who are going to play. Especially the much anticipated teams like New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, England etc. have published their team list.
The BCCI announced the 15-member Indian team yesterday. In that list, Ringu Singh was selected as a substitute player i.e. as a reserve player. This is a huge disappointment for his fans and his family. He was seen as a new finisher for the Indian team in the 2023 IPL series after hitting 5 sixes for Kolkata to win against Gujarat.
Also, he played a vital role in India’s success as a finisher in the 2023 Asian Games, the South Africa series and this year’s Afghanistan T20 series. His family is heartbroken as he has now been picked as a reserve player in the T20 team. Ringu Singh’s father Khan Chandra Shekhar, who gave an interview to the press, said, “We had high hopes. But in the end we were left with only disappointment.
We waited with crackers and sweets hoping for Ringu Singh to feature in India’s first team, but he has only been picked as a reserve player. We are happy to have him as a reserve player but it is a disappointment for us. Ringu Singh’s father, Khan Chandra Shekhar, told reporters that he was disappointed when he spoke about it to his mother and was heartbroken.
