Minister of State for Defense Pramitha Bandara told the South Kon Parliament that the government has taken appropriate steps to provide compensation to the people affected by the inclement weather.
The Minister of State pointed out in the assembly that a few more weeks are needed to assess the effects of the calamities and said that the government will take steps to provide compensation as much as possible considering the economic condition of the country.
In this regard, the Minister of State firmly stated that there will be no room for chauvinism and abuse and that the government will never be afraid of chauvinism.
He said this while replying to questions raised by opposition MPs Harsana Rajakaruna and Marikar in Parliament.
