In a statement issued by him in this regard, it is very sad that two workers, Mariyappan and Muthu Murugan from Chitambarapuram, died in a terrible explosion in a privately owned firecracker factory at Kalayarkurichi near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district. It is very worrisome that explosions in firecracker factories operating in Tamil Nadu and the loss of lives of poor and ordinary workers have become a recurring story.
The DMK-led government is just having fun without taking any measures to prevent accidents in firecracker factories. Also, there is no concern about the loss of lives of innocent workers engaged in this industry.
On the contrary, it is highly reprehensible to think that it is enough to compensate the loss of life once it has occurred. According to official information, more than 39 explosions have occurred in firecracker factories in Tamil Nadu since the DMK-led government took over, in which more than 112 people have died. The safety of the firecracker workers has become very questionable under the DMK-led regime. Do fireworks companies follow proper safety procedures? The Tamil Nadu government should conduct a continuous study.
District Collectors should identify the officials who do not carry out proper inspections and take appropriate action against them. If the government of Tamil Nadu conducts such proper inspections and monitoring properly, we will not be losing lives due to explosions in firecracker factories.
Ever since the DMK-led government assumed responsibility, the people of Tamil Nadu have been subjected to various hardships and have been suffering greatly due to their indifference in everything and their selfishness, forgetting the people. So the DMK-led government should come forward to meet the basic needs of the people of Tamil Nadu at least during the remaining period.

I pray to the Lord for the speedy recovery of those injured in this accident who are undergoing treatment in the hospital. He mentioned that the DMK-led government should immediately appoint a committee of government officials to carry out proper inspections of all firecracker manufacturing companies and godowns in Tamil Nadu to ensure the safety of the poor and ordinary workers involved in the industry, at least during the period when explosions are prevented.
