Today (07), there is a chance of rain in Upper, Sabaragamuwa, North Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology has predicted.
Other parts of the country are likely to experience rain or thundershowers at some places in the evening or at night, with 50 mm of rain in some places. There is a possibility of heavy rains today.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of temporary strong winds and lightning strikes during thunderstorms.
