Deep sea fishing is banned for 61 days in Tamil Nadu every year in view of the breeding season of fish.
Fishing Prohibition
Accordingly, this year’s fishing ban began on April 15. The ban will end tomorrow (June 14).
Powerboats
Fishermen from 14 coastal districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore and Nagapattinam were banned from going to sea.
Kasimedu Fishing Harbour
Accordingly, the fishing boats at the Kasimedu fishing harbor in Chennai were also parked on the shore instead of going to the sea for fishing.
Fishermen are ready
Fishermen repaired boats and fishing equipment during the ban. In this situation, as the fishing ban period ends tomorrow, the fishermen are preparing to go fishing in the sea.
The price will decrease
The price of fish has gone up in the last 2 months due to lack of fishing. Once the fishing ban is over and fishermen go out to sea, the supply of fish will increase. It is expected that the price will start decreasing due to this.
