Free admission to the public to watch the aerial adventure event at the Marina Beach is announced. This is expected to attract a large number of visitors. In view of this, the city traffic police has issued a notification regarding traffic changes and parking arrangements for tomorrow.
Chennai Traffic Police has announced traffic changes on the roads leading to Marina Beach. Only vehicles with passes will be allowed between the Gandhi statue and War Memorial on Kamaraj Road. Motorists without a pass can use the parking lots on Walaja Road instead of RK Road.
Vehicles coming from Thiruvanmiyur via Kamaraj Road towards Parimuna are prohibited. Instead, Sardar Patel Road and Gandhi Mandapam Road and Anna Salai can be used.
Thiruvanmiyur-bound vehicles from Parimuna will be banned and will be able to go to destinations via Annasalai and Thenampet and Gandhi Mandapam.
For parking facility, VIP and VVIP car parking has been arranged at Foreshore Estate Road, Presidency College, Swami Sivananda Road and Lady Wellington College (Blue Color Pass only) on Kamaraj Road.
Parking facilities are arranged at CSI School, St. Bede’s High School, Santhome High School, St. Bede’s Grounds, Cathedral Primary School, Community Hall at Santhome and Loop Road (one side parking) at Santhome Road.
Parking is available at RK Road, MRTS – Light House Road, NKT School, Queen Mary’s College (Journal and Police Vehicle) and St Epha’s School.
Parking facilities are available for those using Annasalai from Island Ground, PWD Ground (Opposite Secretariat), Munro Statue to Pallavan Road junction and MRTS Chinthadirippet. Parking lots close at 9.30am. Therefore, visitors planning to visit the event in private vehicles are requested to arrive as early as possible.
Motorists can use Anna Road, Walaja Road and Swami Sivananda Road to reach the event venue. Kamarajar Road, Annasalai, Santhome Highway. RK Road. Commercial vehicles are prohibited from plying on Cathedral Road and Walaja Road from 7 am to 4 pm.
