For me, Rohit will be the person I will miss the most, says India head coach Rahul Dravid.
After 17 years after winning the 2007 T20 World Cup, India is now the T20 World Champion for the 2nd time. After winning the trophy, Rahul Dravid said to the media, “Even though I played well, I could not win the World Cup as a player. But I feel lucky that I got the chance to lead the Indian team. As a coach, the reason why I win this trophy is because of the players of the Indian team. It’s a wonderful feeling. At the same time, it was a great trip.
The World Cup is the culmination of over two years of hard work and planning. Apart from winning the T20 World Cup, we also worked to improve the structure and skills of the Indian team. Our hard work culminated in this World Cup.
I will be out of work starting next week. I don’t want to think too much. I hope we can get out of our regrets. Because this is life. However, I will definitely miss Rohit Sharma after his departure from the Indian team.
Rohit’s respect for me, his concern and commitment to the team, his energy and his never-back-down character impressed me the most. For me, Rohit will be the person I will miss the most. He is not only a great player but also a great captain. He will win many more trophies,” he said fervently.
