Chennai : India’s star tennis player Sumit Nagal has crashed out in the first round of the ongoing Geneva Open Tennessee series.
The Geneva Open clay tennis tournament is held at the Tennis Club de Genève in Geneva, Switzerland. The series will be held from May 18 to May 25. India’s number one singles tennis player Sumit Nagal clashed with Argentina’s Sebastian Baez in the series held last Sunday.
In this match that started briskly, Sumit Nagal lost the first set with the score of 6-7. In the 2nd set of this ongoing match, Sebastian played well and did not let Sumit take the lead, winning the set 3-6 and defeating India’s number one tennis player, Sumit Nagal, 6-7, 3-6.
Due to this defeat, he was also eliminated from the Geneva Open tennis series in the first round, i.e. in the knockout mode. A defeated Sumit wrote on his X site, “I’m a bit distraught with today’s defeat. But for Roland Garros (French Open) I will bring myself to the series. Next is Paris”, he posted.
Also, for his record, his fans consoled him for his loss and wished him well for the upcoming French Open series.
