Gukesh D: Gukesh, who won the title of champion in the Candidates series, received a huge reception in Chennai.

D Gukesh, a young chess player from Tamil Nadu won the B-Candidates Chess Tournament held in Canada and won the champion title. In this series, he defeated the world famous chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura in a match which is a matter of all pride.

The previous youngest age to qualify for a World Championship was 22-year-old Russian Grandmaster Garry Kasparov in 1984. Now after 40 years, Gukesh has broken this record at the age of 17 and made Tamil Nadu proud.

In this case, he won the Bday Candidates Championship and arrived at the Chennai airport at 3 am yesterday. More than 100 students, parents, relatives, coaches and friends who had studied with him in Velammal Vidyalaya welcomed him there and congratulated him.

His mother hugs Gukesh and shares his love with all his eyes and kisses. This video has moved the hearts of those watching Latch. At the same time, Gukesh has qualified for the World Chess Championship as the 2nd player from Tamil Nadu after Vishwanath Anand, the famous grandmaster of India. Later this year, Gukesh will play the final of the World Chess Championship against China’s Ding Lirin.
