Handover of 106 more houses under Indian Housing Scheme

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. During Jaishankar’s visit to Sri Lanka, 3 milestones were achieved in Indo-Sri Lankan relations.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe and Dr. Jaishankar jointly inaugurated the commemorative plaques for 106 houses in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Matalai districts under the Indian Housing Project.

Also, 24 houses were handed over to the beneficiaries virtually in the model villages in Colombo and Trincomalee.

Rs. A commemorative plaque marking the official launch of the Marine Recovery Coordination Center (MRCC) in Sri Lanka with Indian funding of $6 million was unveiled virtually. President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar jointly inaugurated it.

These include a center at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo, a sub-centre at Hambantota, and unmanned control centers at Galle, Arugumbe, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Gallaru, Parutthurai and Mollikkulam.
