Chennai : In view of the summer heat, construction workers in Chennai and Madurai districts have been notified not to work at certain times.
The impact of summer heat is increasing every year. Due to this, the workers who are doing various jobs including construction industries in the public space are facing a lot of difficulties. Government and labor organizations are implementing various schemes for their welfare.
Even though it is raining here and there in Tamil Nadu during this summer season, the heat is still there in various places. Keeping that in mind, the Industrial Safety Commission has issued a new notification.
Accordingly, it has ordered all construction companies not to carry out open-air construction work in Chennai and Madurai from 10 am to 4 pm.
It has also been announced that the order will remain in force till the end of May. The Industrial Protection Movement informed that this measure has been taken to prevent the health condition of the workers due to the effects of summer heat.
The Directorate of Industrial Safety has also instructed that the Joint Directors of Chennai and Madurai Districts should monitor whether this notification is properly followed.
