Chennai: Death toll rises to 14 after giant billboard collapses in Mumbai
A 100-feet high billboard fell on a petrol pump during a dust storm in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area yesterday. The death toll in the accident has risen to 14, with over 70 injured.
While 8 people were reported dead last night, as of this morning 14 people have died. More than 70 people are receiving treatment in the hospital. According to civic officials, the billboard was illegal.
Air traffic at the Mumbai airport was suspended for an hour in the evening due to the dust storm yesterday. Not only that, local train services were also delayed and traffic jams were witnessed in many areas.
