For more than a month, severe heat has been burning in various places across India including Tamil Nadu. The impact of heat is increasing day by day like never before. In some places, the heat wave is blowing due to the fact that the amount of heat is higher than normal.
In this regard, the India Meteorological Department has also issued a heat wave warning for some states. Accordingly, a red alert for heat wave has also been issued in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Goa for the next few days.
It is also reported that the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala will experience a heat wave in the next few days. Many people, including the elderly and children, are suffering due to the intense heat. India Meteorological Department has also told how to protect us from heat wave in this environment.
Things to follow during hot weather:
- Even if you are not thirsty, you should drink enough water to keep your body hydrated or a rehydration salt and sugar solution called ORS.
- Avoid going outside during peak hours (12PM – 4PM) and reschedule tasks accordingly.
- Staying in shaded and covered areas is essential when the sun is high. This should be followed especially by children, elderly and patients.
- Also, it is advised to wear light colored cotton clothes and use a cloth, hat or umbrella on the head during hot weather.
