As the Indian car sales market continues to grow, it must be said that the luxury car sales market is also growing significantly. Various luxury car manufacturers like BMW, Audi and Lexus already sell their premium cars in India.
In this case, South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai is planning to launch its luxury car brand Genesis in India. We can expect the Genesis to launch in India in the second half of 2025.
The Genesis, which made its international debut in 2015, has now reached a new milestone of 1 million units sold. Also, Genesis has started selling 2 to 2.5 lakh cars annually globally only in the last few years. The Genesis brand operates only in select automobile markets, including the US and Europe.
The company, which currently sells both electric and fuel-powered cars worldwide, has also announced that it will release only new electric cars from 2025. The SUVs sold by the company in international markets including GV70, GV80 and GV90 (yet to be released) are likely to be launched in India after the Indian launch.
It is said that they are planning to sell more electric vehicles in India, especially SUVs, beyond these models. Initially, once this new brand is launched in India, it is reported that it is planning to sell the cars in CBU (Completely Built Unit) mode, and then assemble the new cars in India. But we have to wait a few more years for that.
Hyundai is planning to launch a new range of luxury cars under the Zenith brand to compete with the likes of Lexus, Audi, Mercedes and BMW in India.
