Arvind Kejriwal | Days after his release from Tihar Jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave a boost to the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Lok Sabha election campaign.

Subsequently, he announced 10 guarantees to the people across the country if the opposition Team India comes to power.

Arvind Kejriwal gave his promise for 18 of the 22 Lok Sabha constituencies contested by the Aam Aadmi Party, 4 in Delhi, 13 in Punjab and one in Haryana.

Arvind Kejriwal continued, “BJP has failed to fulfill its promises. My guarantees have a proven track record.
Now, people have to decide whether to go for ‘Kejriwal ki guarantee’ or ‘Modi ki guarantee’,” he said.

10 Promises by Arvind Kejriwal

  1. Electricity: The Chief Minister of Delhi has vowed to arrange 24-hour electricity supply across the country. We have a power generation capacity of 3 lakh MW. Peak demand during summer is 2 lakh MW. We have the capacity to generate more electricity as per demand.
  2. Education: Stating that education is the foundation of development for any country, Kejriwal promised to set up high-quality schools across the country so that good quality education is free for all.
  3. Hygiene: Kejriwal also promised changes in the healthcare system to ensure access to every section of the society.
  4. Stopping Chinese aggression: The Aam Aadmi Party leader promised to find a permanent solution to the land occupied by China in the border areas.
  5. Permanent Posts for Agniveer Recruitment: Kejriwal promised to end the contract form of the Agniveer scheme and said that all those inducted through the scheme would be given permanent posts.
  6. Promises to Farmers: As a next election promise, Kejriwal confirmed minimum support price for crops based on the Swaminathan report.
  7. State Status for Delhi: The three-time chief minister of Delhi also promised full statehood to the capital.
  8. Employment: Criticizing the central government over the unemployment situation in the country, Kejriwal presented a comprehensive plan. Arrangements will be made to provide employment to 2 crore people within a year. It will be productive and useful employment,” he said.
  9. Strict action against corruption: Slamming the BJP, Kejriwal said, “The system of sending honest people to jail and protecting the corrupt will end. This is the biggest cause of corruption in the country,” he said.
  10. Actions for Businessmen: The Delhi Chief Minister, in his last election pledge, promised to simplify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
