It is customary for all the devotees who come to the temple to take a holy dip in the Thiruchendur sea and have darshan of Lord Muruga.
In this, the sea suddenly receded to a distance of 100 feet in Tiruchendur today. Due to this, the rocks in the sea started to show out. Normally the sea recedes in Tiruchendur on Ammavasai and Poornami days after which it returns to normal.
False Sea Event:
But now the police are warning the public that the sea is aggressive and suddenly inundated due to the false sea phenomenon that occurs without any warning. It is also noted that bathing in the sea has already been banned in Tiruchendur due to this.
Today, the Tiruchendur sea has receded 100 feet and the police have warned the devotees who bathed in the sea without realizing the danger through a loudspeaker and sent them out.
Also, the temple administration has advised that no one should go into the sea and take a bath as the speed of the sea waves is very high.
