35A lizard was found fried in a mixer sold in Jaffna’s Selva Sannidhi Temple.
Last night (24th), special Anipongal Puja services were held at Sannidhi Temple.
A large number of devotees visited the temple during that time.
In that situation, a person who visited the temple bought a mixer from a sweet shop in the vicinity of the temple, and a lizard was found fried in it.
After the public health inspector of the area was informed about it, the public health inspector, who took the mixer found with the lizard as evidence, filed a case against the sweet shop in the District Magistrate’s Court.
The said case will be taken up for hearing on the 27th.
