Armstrong, the state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants outside his residence in Perampur, Chennai last July. So far 24 people have been arrested in connection with this murder. These include lawyers. The rowdy who was arrested in this murder case was shot dead by the police in an encounter as he tried to escape during the trial in Thiruvenkadam.
The police are actively interrogating the others who have been arrested. Prominent persons belonging to various political parties have been arrested in this murder case. They are also being seriously investigated. Lawyer Aswathaman, a former executive of the Youth Congress Party, and his father, Rowdy Nagendran, were found to be involved in the Armstrong murder case.
Subsequently they were also arrested and interrogated. In this, Aswatthaman has confessed that he killed Armstrong for reasons including Kattapanchayat, political future, industrial rivalry, and land dispute. In this case, Porkodi, the wife of rowdy Arkadu Suresh, has also been arrested. She has also confessed that she helped her husband Arkadu Suresh murder Armstrong with jewelry.
Rowdy Sambo Senthil is wanted in connection with Armstrong’s murder. He is yet to be nabbed even though the special forces police are conducting a manhunt in various states. In this case, it has been reported that the police are investigating Monisha, the wife of famous film director Nelson.
The police are said to be investigating the suspicion that director Nelson’s wife Monisha sheltered Sambo Senthil’s associate Mottai Krishnan. It has been reported that the police is planning to interrogate Nelson after Monisha. The trial of director Nelson’s wife in the Armstrong murder case has caused a stir.
