Forgery: The National Commission for Women has announced that an inquiry committee headed by Khushpu has been formed in connection with the death of 59 people after drinking adulterated liquor in Kallakurichi.
So far 59 people have died due to drinking liquor in Kallakurichi district. More than 100 people are being treated in a critical condition. The police have arrested more than 20 people, including bootlegger, in connection with this matter. Moreover, the Tamil Nadu government has also ordered a CBCID investigation into the matter.
But the opposition parties say that many DMK officials are behind the sale of bootleg liquor and the truth in the matter will not come out if the state government-controlled CBCID investigates it. Therefore, the opposition parties including AIADMK and BJP are demanding that the central government order a CBI investigation.
In this case, the National Commission for Women has announced that an inquiry committee has been formed under the leadership of Khushbu, a member of the National Commission for Women, regarding the death of 6 women after drinking this fake liquor. Based on the media reports that 6 women have died, the National Commission for Women has said that it is going to conduct an investigation on its own and appoint Khushbu as the head of the investigation committee.
