This year’s Vaikasi month Brahmotsava festival at Kanchi Sri Varadarajaperumal Temple, known as the world famous Atti Varadhar Temple in the temple city of Kanchipuram, started with flag hoisting early this morning.
Flag hoisting
The entire temple was decorated with colorful lights.
Special abhishekams and Deeparathans were held for the temple flagpole, the flag engraved with Garudalwar painting was hoisted on the temple flagpole and Deeparathanams were shown.
Varadarajaperumal
And during this flag hoisting, Utsawar Varadarajaperumal along with Sridevi Bhudevi dressed in Venkatatri garlands and got up to the Desikar sanniti near the temple flag in a special decoration and graced the devotees.
Following this, Utsavar Varadarajaperumal got up on a golden saddle and walked around and blessed the devotees.
Trivedi Ula
On the occasion of Vaikasi month’s Brahmotsavam festival, Utsavar Varadarajaperumal gets up in different vehicles every morning and evening and visits the Thiruveedi to bless the devotees.
Garuda Seva Utsavam
In particular, the main festivals of this Vaikasi month Brahmotsava festival such as Garuda Seva Utsavam will be held on the 22nd and Maha Ratham will be held on the 26th. Also, on the 28th, the Vaikasi month Brahmotsava festival will conclude with the Tirthavari and the next night on the 29th, with the procession of Varadaraja Perumal Thiru Veedhi at Vetiver Chapparam.
