On the occasion of the 3rd Saturday of Puratasi, devotees waited in long queues since morning to have darshan of Swami at Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kanchipuram.
Devotees thronged Kanchipuram Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple from early morning to have darshan of Swami on the third Saturday of Puratasi. Due to the large number of devotees, the temple complex was crowded. Devotees above the age of 60 who are taken on a free spiritual tour to Vaishnava temples visited the Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kanchipuram.
It is auspicious to observe a fast in the month of Puratasi, which is auspicious for Perumal, and visit the Perumal temple on every Saturday. Today Puratasi is observed on the 3rd Saturday of the week.
Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal Temple is one of the world famous among 108 Vaishnava Divya Desams. In that way, a large number of devotees from local, out-of-town and other states flocked to Kanchipuram Varadaraja Perumal Temple, which is popularly known as Atti Varadhar Temple in Kanchipuram, on Puratasi Saturday.
Special decorations were made for Varadaraja Perumal and his mother. A special worship was conducted and the walk was opened for the devotees to have darshan. Devotees came in large numbers since morning. In a long line, they waited for more than an hour to have darshan of Sami and worshiped him.
Devotees above 60 years of age who are taken on a free spiritual tour to Vaishnava temples by the Department of Hindu Religious Charities, and devotees who go on a spiritual tour by the Transport Corporation have been arranged to visit Perumal. A large number of devotees came to Kanchipuram Varadaraja Perumal Temple on the 3rd Saturday of Puratasi.
