Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Hours after he said he would “retire” at the age of 75 and Home Minister Amit Shah would become prime minister, Amit Shah insisted that Modi would “complete a full term”.
Speaking at the Hyderabad BJP office, Amit Shah said, “I want to tell Arvind Kejriwal and his colleagues and the India Alliance that there is no need to rejoice that Narendra Modi is turning 75. Nothing like that is mentioned in the constitution of BJP. Modi ji is going to complete this term and Modi ji will lead the country in future too. There is no confusion within the BJP; They want to create confusion,” he said.
Later speaking to news agency ANI, Amit Shah said, “India alliance leaders know that we are going to cross 400 seats and Modi ji will become PM for the third time, that’s why they are spreading such false ideas. I would like to make it clear that there is no such provision in the constitution of Bharatiya Janata Party. Modi ji will rule till 2029 and Modi ji will preside over upcoming elections. “There is no good news for the Indian alliance,” he said.
Speaking at the Aam Aadmi Party office in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “These people (BJP) are asking for an Indian alliance, who will become your Prime Minister? Who is your prime ministerial candidate? I ask BJP, who is your prime minister? He (Modi) will be 75 next September. It was Modi who made the rule that party members should retire at the age of 75. He is due to retire next year. So I ask the BJP, who is your Prime Minister? Who will fulfill Modi’s guarantee? Will Amitsha? “When you go to vote, remember that you are voting for Amit Shah, not Modi,” he said.
In response, Amit Shah said, “Narendra Modi has 23 years of experience as Chief Minister and Prime Minister and he has ensured the development of the country.” “He worked tirelessly for the betterment of the poor. Today, homeland security has improved; We have a tight grip on terrorism and Naxalites. On one side there is a Prime Minister from a poor background, a tea seller, and on the other side there are leaders born with a silver spoon in their mouths who are products of succession politics,” said Amit Shah.
Amit Shah also said that the interim bail granted to Kejriwal does not mean that he is clean. “Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal only for election campaign. He is expected to surrender before the investigating agency on June 2. If Kejriwal thinks this is the Supreme Court giving him a certificate of innocence, I think his understanding of the law is wrong,” said Amit Shah.
Regarding Mani Shankar Aiyar’s view that Pakistan is a nuclear power, “BJP’s position is that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir belongs to India and is a part of India. His (Mani Shankar Aiyar) comment that Pakistan has nuclear weapons is regrettable,” Amit Shah said.
Rejecting allegations that the BJP will scrap all reservations if it comes back to power for a third term, Amit Shah said it only wants to scrap religious-based reservations in Telangana.
Amit Shah also alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government in Telangana has handed over the steering wheel to Owaisi. “They engage in pacifist politics. They oppose CAA and want to allow Rohingyas to come into the country,” said Amit Shah.
Talking about the opposition, Amit Shah said, “The greed of these people to protect their minority vote bank is so strong that they even question the surgical strike. After USA and Israel, India is the only country that can go inside the enemy’s territory and attack if someone damages its security forces. Revanth Reddy may admit this privately but for obvious reasons cannot say it publicly,” he said.
