Kia is set to launch an updated version of its current premium electric car, the EV6, in the coming weeks. As a preview, the company has shared some photos of the electric car. What changes will the new Kia EV6 debut?
Kia has now shared two preview photos of the new EV6. The photos show the front and rear of the new EV6. Both the front and rear of the new EV6 get new styling from the current model.
The front headlamps are positioned slightly lower than on the current model. Also, the DRL is designed around this headlamp. The end of the rear taillight has been given a new arrow-like structure. The bumper has also been redesigned.
Based on these preview photos, we can understand that the new EV6 model will have most of the design changes. Following the exterior design, we can expect noticeable design changes on the interior as well. Also, we can expect a new infotainment system, redesigned steering wheels and additional luxury and safety features in the new EV6.
There is no word on whether the new EV6 will feature changes to the electric motor. However, Kia is said to offer the new EV6 the 84kWh battery used in the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is slightly larger than the one used in the current model. The range of the new EV6 will also be longer. Being an electric vehicle, the extra range is seen as a plus point.
The Kia EV6 is currently on sale in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 60.95 lakh to Rs 65.95 lakh. It is noteworthy that the Kia EV6 will be launched internationally for the first time in 2021 and in India in 2022.
