Kia only sells SUVs and MPVs in India. Also, Kia cars are affordable even for budget customers. But, this is not the case globally. Various Kia cars are marketed as a cheaper alternative to luxury cars.
Kia has now released a facelifted version of the K8 sedan model that they are selling globally.
Kia K8 Sedan:
Although it looks like an electric car at first glance, Kia’s K8 sedan, which is sold in various countries around the world including South Korea, is a fuel car.
The company has introduced the K7 sedan to replace the Cadenza sedan that it was selling earlier. The K7 was later renamed the K8. Kia has now updated the same K8 model and released its facelifted version in South Korea.
Design Changes:
The new K8 sedan has a lot of design changes. There is no mechanical change. Kia has completely revamped the front-end design of the K8 sedan. The company has completely redesigned the front of the K8 sedan with vertically designed headlamps, a DRL strip that connects the two side headlamps, and a repositioned logo to make it look like a new car.
However, neither the sides nor the rear have undergone any major design changes. Only the rear bumper has been redesigned.
Indoor facilities:
Kia has also made some noticeable design changes to the interior of the new K8 sedan. The climate controls have been redesigned and relocated to the center console.
An LED ambient light strip is provided to divide the dashboard into two. For safety, 10 airbags are offered as standard and the headlamps get adaptive high beam technology. The K8 sedan automatically dims the headlights when there is an oncoming car.
Engine:
The car comes with front wheel drive as standard and all wheel drive as an option. Kia offers three engine options for this sedan: a four-cylinder 2.5-litre petrol, a 3.5-litre V6 petrol and a 1.6-litre hybrid.
The 2.5 liter engine produces 200hp, the 3.5 liter engine produces 300hp and the 1.6 liter hybrid powertrain produces 240hp.
Kia K8 Sedan Price:
Kia has released this updated sedan for 2025 in South Korea at a price of Rs 23 lakh to Rs 35 lakh in India. It is also worth noting that there is no chance of Kia bringing this car to India.
