In this case, a complaint was raised in 2019 that the provident fund deducted from the salary of the workers who worked on contract basis in Anna Technical University, Coimbatore was not properly paid.
Investigating the matter, the Labor Provident Fund Rs. 2 crore 44 lakhs was directed to Anna Technological University, Coimbatore. The single judge hearing the case filed on behalf of Anna University against this order ordered the payment of Rs. An appeal was filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of Anna University against this order. This case judges J. Satyanarayana Prasad and V. Lakshmi Narayanan came up for hearing on Thursday. According to the order of the single judge, the university did not have sufficient funds to pay Rs. 73 lakh 23 thousand which is 30 percent of the balance of provident fund. At present Rs. Subsequently, the judges adjourned the hearing of the case to June 5 and ordered the Anna University side to provide a copy of the petition to the Commissioner of the Labor Provident Fund.
